ABOUT ME
Cheryl Oppenheim
I was born in da Bronx, the youngest child of three, and it's those two facts that summarize my character. I'm a tough cookie with street smarts, and a playful attitude. I believe in ideas. Ideas that make life better – simpler, smoother, richer and, dare I say, more fun. My focus is the development of ideas for businesses and business communications that entice and stimulate, and those that enhance peoples' experiences.

I currently work with clients such as LG Electronics, CoverGirl, ESPN and emerging businesses to create powerful communications that build brands. I consult on corporate identity, branding, digital and social media strategy and execution. I develop integrated strategies that work, and work collaboratively to resolve complex business issues, develop requirements, and refine the overall customer experience.

I earned a B.F.A. with honors in Communications Design from Pratt Institute. My education there taught me how to think differently; come up with unique and engaging solutions; and the importance of customer interaction and information design. I later received  a certificate in Digital Technologies from Parson's New School of Design. I have over 15 years in interactive and web with a focus on business and marketing strategy and user experience design.

Previously as VP Digital Strategy for Onit Digital, Inc. I provided the company, staff, and clients with strategic direction, oversight, and insight. I worked closely and collaboratively with senior level members and clients of the agencies BBDO, Euro RSCG, G2, Lowe NY, and others, providing creative and strategic leadership on various online initiatives for Absolut, Adidas, Campbell's, Canon USA, Merck Pharmaceuticals, Quiznos, and Stryker Inc.

Before that,
as Founder & Creative Director of Whet Design, Inc., and Strategy Director at Waters Design Associates, Inc., I led teams of designers, producers, and developers in the creation of award winning integrated marketing - branding, web, and interactive solutions for such clients as Canon USA, GretagMacbeth, Harris Interactive, Lucent, SONY, and the Wall Street Journal.

I've written, taught and spoken on branding and technology, and I'm honored to have had my work featured in numerous books including Graphis Interactive, Creativity, American Corporate Identity, LogoLounge, and others. My clients seem to like me and my techniques, and I was included in Businessweek Small Business article "A Brainstorm Kit: Getting the most from your team's think sessions take technique and planning."

I love New York City. I've been a resident of Manhattan for about 25 years and now reside in Long Island City with a fabulous view of Manhattan, my teenage daughter, and a Honda Shadow motorcycle. All of which get plenty of my attention when I'm not doing this strategy stuff.
